The LATAM Transport department is looking for a Transport Specialist to ensure components are delivered safely, timely, and cost-effectively as planned and in compliance with Customs and TAX regulations where Vestas operates, overseeing and managing materials and equipment within LATAM with a main focus in LAT South countries.
The general purpose is to oversee and coordinate the transportation of materials and tools for the wind turbines within factories, warehouses, and wind sites.
Responsibilities: Applying specialist skills to perform a range of sometimes complex and non-routine work activities to improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques.Anchor the implementations in the area, including but not limited to: new processes, systems, logistic providers, products, business cases, investigating and supporting problem-solving, monitoring and reporting risks & opportunities.Coordinate Inbound Transport Team on all deliveries, ensuring shipments are safe, on track, and reported.Provide guidance, assistance, and advice to internal clients in support of their operations, attending to safety, customs, tax, finance, account, and systems compliance processes.Close cooperation with the transport team to improve the operation in the region and meet the KPIs from the transport department.Supplier Performance Management, as well as coordinating and controlling their payments.Investigate and support problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues, monitor and report transport risks, supporting the team to recover NCR/Claim costs disputes.Ensure transparency and control in performance reporting within regional transport while supporting updates for regional business and performance reviews.Assist with the Transport Budget preparation & control process, ensuring high integrity in our numbers by having accurate figures in Inbound reports and a high-quality budget based on well-documented assumptions.Ensure root cause explanations in our forecast where all changes and deviations are explained by the underlying business drivers.Anchor the cost risk impacts, investigating and supporting problem-solving, monitoring and reporting risks & opportunities.Work to optimize and reduce overall logistics and customs costs, assisting the Transport team on various cost reduction initiatives, business case preparation & reporting.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, or International Studies/Foreign Trade preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position focused on Logistics/Transport.Comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and practices, in-depth knowledge, and hands-on experience.Solid stakeholder management skills.Significant financial experience in transport cost controlling.Solid systems skills including MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint), preferably including hands-on experience in Power BI and SAP BI.Attention to detail and ability to build well-organized spreadsheets.Advanced English and Spanish language skills, written and spoken. Portuguese is a welcome addition.
