Sr. Ruby Developer

Description of ResponsibilitiesThis is an opportunity to join a small team to work on a fresh end-to-end platform for a fast-growing dynamic technology-driven fixed-income asset manager.The role is to work with all members of the firm to evolve the software and platforms that support all the firm's activities.Candidates will be expected to :- Design, develop, test, support, automate and maintain a wide variety of next-generation technological applications across all aspects of the business- Get involved in all aspects of IT, including infrastructure, vendors, tool selection, and supportRequirements : RequirementsRequirements- At a minimum, Ruby, Rails, Shell, Linux, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (Mongo)- Python, R, Go are nice to haveQualifications- A minimum of 5+ years of experience developing applications, preferably in financial institution, with a computer science, math or engineering degree- Strong knowledge of ruby, rails, web services, databases, shell scripting on Linux and other modern technology platforms- Good understanding of key design principles for software architecture and development- Understanding of the workflows and functions of a hedge fund is preferred- Experience in fixed income and mathematical / quantitative analytic skills are also a plus- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to own work from problem to resolution- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with a small, close team
