Shift SpecialistMain purpose The Production Specialist will have overall responsibility and accountability for safe and reliable operations of the cell unit. The Production Specialist is accountable for achieving the production unit business objectives in line with the local business strategy. This role is also accountable for developing the strategy for the shift specialists' team, in order to standardize one pss actions, union team opportunities and synergies between shifts and production areas with a cost-saving mindset.
We are currently seeking three Production Specialists, one for each shift, to join our team. These roles involve supporting and leading a specific group of rotating technicians and production workers within a dedicated cell unit. As a Production Shift Specialist, you will accompany and guide your assigned letter group, ensuring smooth operations across all shifts.
Your mission will be to: Manage and administrate personnel as well as documentation (The time and attendance system, vacations, trainings, absences coverage, feedback), looking after the needs of the unit. Maintain an updated job description of all employees and communicate changes as appropriate to maximize teamwork opportunities.Operative nexus with the Union. Main support for the shift specialists. Analyze synergies and cost-saving opportunities based on union agreements.Provide leadership and coaching to the plant technicians and shift specialists to ensure a high standard and sustainable performance in HSE. Main Focal Point of the area in the implementation and continuous improvement of all safety requirements, programs, standards and practices.Support the site by achieving goals and by aligning the area operations with the Site strategy and goals. Translate and communicate objectives to shift specialists. Actively leverage best practices across the business. Drive and incorporate the benefits of a Highly Reliable Organization into the plant's culture.Ensure the proper technicians coverage minimizing cost of overtime while maximizing the performance to meet stretch goals. Consistently perform root cause analysis using existing tools (such as troubleshooting, 5-WHY) to mitigate risks and avoid unplanned losses. Develop and improve problem-solving capability.Develop personnel competencies, counseling, motivation and policy setting to create an environment for employees and work teams that supports commitment to continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. Challenge the continuous change to establish a Learning Organization.Provide leadership, teaching and coaching to plant technicians and shift specialists to ensure benchmark performance in plant productivity and reliability, measured through KPI's like RFT, quality claims, usages, S&OP Adherence and reduction of unplanned events. Reduce product and raw materials and packaging components losses as well as operational downtimes.Ensure daily product and process data reliability and availability. The plant's success clearly depends on continuous, significant and sustained productivity improvements (e.g. in operational discipline).Define daily production priorities (reworks, maintenance, raw materials/packaging components). Ensure the proper coordination between plant operations and other functions are effective (i.e. Maintenance, HSE, Logistics, Process Control, procurement, etc.).Lead Autonomous Maintenance, safety and 5S implementation and ensure implementation of additional foundational and pillars practices by communicating and standardizing processes. Ensure Continuous Improvement through Short Interval Control.Assume aspects of site leadership integration responsibilities and other roles, as appropriate to the local area or business.Actively supports Bayer's reputation through community volunteerism and participation in outside agencies and affinity groups.Unlock your potential: Graduated in engineering (preferred)Experience in production plants and safety (desired). At least 3 years' experience.Skilled in leading teams, with a focus on union technicians (preferred).Knowledge of legal requirements as well as safety standards and obligations.Knowledge on Lean Practices and cost management.Leadership skills, especially Communication and negotiation.Multi-functional team experience.Strong willingness and ability to deliver results, with a good sense on priorities.Shift Details: Shift 1: 5:00 AM - 1:00 PMShift 2: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PMShift 3: 9:00 PM - 5:00 AMWork Schedule: The work schedule follows a rotating pattern of 7 days on, 2 days off, 7 days on, 2 days off, 7 days on, and 3 days off. This schedule applies to all shifts, ensuring continuous coverage and support for the rotating cells.
As a Production Specialist, you will be the key point of contact for your assigned letter group, providing leadership and support in a dynamic, round-the-clock operation.
