Job Description: We are seeking experienced paralegals or lawyers with a strong background in preparing Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Experience in foreign jurisdictions is a nice-to-have.
The ideal candidate will have a patent certificate, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in English.
This role requires reviewing patent literature, preparing IDS submissions, and utilizing proprietary automation tools.
Key Responsibilities: IDS Preparation: Prepare and e-file Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) with the USPTO.
Document Management: Collect, analyze, and manage digital patent documents and related data.
Database Maintenance: Update and maintain databases of prior art references and patent literature.
Client Communication: Follow client procedures and maintain confidentiality of client information.
Software Utilization: Work with proprietary automation software to prepare patent application disclosures and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications: Experience: 1+ years of experience in patent law as a paralegal, IDS specialist, or other patent prosecution support role.
Experience generating and reviewing IDS documents of varying sizes (including 100+ references).
Proficiency in working with the USPTO and preparing IDS submissions is required.
Foreign jurisdiction experience is a plus.
Certifications: Patent certification is strongly preferred.
Skills: Advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple demands, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with digital tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Adobe Acrobat, and spreadsheet/database management.
Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to review and catch errors.
Nice-to-Haves: Experience with patent systems in foreign jurisdictions.
Familiarity with patent review processes and prior art management.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
