The Paralegal I will assist with the administration of our vendor and customer contracts and the corporate legal function. This is a highly commercial role that requires sound judgement and interfacing with a number of internal and external constituents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESWork with a global team of contracts attorneys/professionals.Provide logistical and organizational support to the Business Legal team.Track status of agreements under negotiation, manage signature process for vendor and customer agreements (both e-signature and coordination of manual signatures), file finalized agreements, assign tickets per matrix.Provide pragmatic day-to-day support to the Business Legal team.Must be able to work under tight deadlines and interact with lawyers and business teams globally.Perform other work-related duties as assigned.Support the transaction team in forming and dissolving corporate entities, maintaining corporate books and various mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities.Assist with a wide variety of legal issues including corporate, regulatory, commercial, compliance and general legal matters.Coordinate notarization and legalization of documents.Assist in researching issues, generating reports and advising internal customers regarding business and legal inquiries.Perform legal (within a range of databases) and factual research, and prepare written, statistical and graphical reports as needed. Act as department liaison to various internal departments and external counsel.Perform administrative support in preparing and distributing various memos and reports related to attorney projects, tracking legal invoices and the department budget.Update and maintain the legal corporate database as needed, providing support to the different regional teams and uploading relevant documents.Draft, prepare and assist with execution of routine PoAs for affiliates.Critical Success Factors Judgment: Demonstrates expertise and sound judgment, understands how assigned responsibilities support Syneos Health's business objectives, and is able to provide practical, risk-balanced advice based upon a thorough understanding of the scope of an issue, taking full advantage of internal networks and external intelligence.Collaboration: Works with others to gain a firm understanding of available legal, functional, and business resources, integrates information from a number of sources, capably navigates a matrixed environment and works well in a team in order to achieve optimal business results.Anticipation: Anticipates changes in law, enforcement, and/or business objectives, develops contingency plans, and adapts approach as necessary to manage risks effectively and mitigate issues before they arise.Influencing Skills: Builds strong relationships with business partners to tactfully influence and gain their support to drive desired outcomes. Represents Syneos Health externally to customers, suppliers, and competitors. Resolves or avoids legal issues using negotiation skills and legal expertise.Qualifications QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (please indicate if 'preferred') Law school student, preferably with 1+ years of relevant experience in either a law firm or in-house legal department.Ability to work within a matrixed environment.Comfortable with technology, including e-signature platforms and electronic document management.Experience handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of client service orientation, and performing successfully in cross-functional teams.Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.Get to know Syneos Health
