As a Map Specification Engineer, you will work closely with Mercedes-Benz internal AD function engineers and our mapping partner to specify the map product and architecture for our current and upcoming Infotainment and ADAS projects. You will design and specify reliable, flexible, and scalable map solutions that are best for our customers.
Detailed Job Scope Description: Map data requirement collection and analysisApplication-oriented map data feature and architecture design and specificationImplementation tracking and verificationMap integration for map-based AD/ADAS applicationsADAS Data Integration Project ManagementCollaborate with Product, Development, and Test teams to enable end-to-end AD/ADAS data and system releaseTest case development/implementationMap data/function related Failure Analysis, specification iteration for next generation ADAS/Infotainment systemsPerform failure analysis on test drive data based on function definition and identify systematic issuesEnrich map data-based ADAS system use case/failure mode know-howCollaborate with product, development, and test teams for systematic ADAS failure and China-specific issuesDocumentation & Bug TrackingDocumentation of routine testsTracking Failures, Test Cases, Test system upgradesQualifications Education Bachelor's degree or above in Geo-informatics, Computer Science, Electronic/Electrotechnic, Information technology, Mathematics and Statistics, or similar course of studiesFluent in English and Chinese in speaking and writing is mandatoryExperience Minimum 3 years working experience in automotive OEM, automotive suppliers, or comparable branches with ADAS map/map-based ADAS function specification or implementation experienceMinimum 2 years of ADAS requirement engineering or project management experienceAt least 1 year regular driving experience of passenger cars is an advantageKnowledge Expert knowledge in mapping technology, map product & electrical horizon (ADASIS v2/v3)Expert knowledge in map-based ADAS systems, vehicle network, sensor, and embedded systemsExpert knowledge in map-based localization, planning & control technologyKnowledge/experience in vehicle-oriented embedded systems is an advantageKnowledge/experience of working with navigation maps or ADAS maps is an advantageAbility to drive the problem-solving process with a high degree of persistence and patienceExcellent communication skills and an open personalityWillingness to travel inside China and abroad
