We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join our middle office team in Amsterdam and assist with crucial data and research tasks.
Position Overview: The CPM Middle Office team is responsible for supporting various valuation and risk management functions related to South Pole's carbon credit portfolio.
As an intern, you will be involved in multiple aspects of data management, inventory analysis, and market research activities to support the broader goals of the team.
This internship is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the environmental commodities space while learning about the intricacies of carbon markets.
Main tasks & responsibilities: As an Intern, your tasks will include: Data Entry & Clean-up: Assist with data entry tasks and ensure that the data in our systems is accurate and up to date.
Support Inventory Management Analysis: Perform manual data tasks related to inventory management analysis on various carbon credit registries.
Basic Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing inventory valuation and prices, providing insights to risk managers.
Research: Assist in research on carbon markets and provide data support for ongoing projects within the middle office team.
Collaboration: Work closely with the CPM team members from front- to back-office to support ad hoc tasks.
Requirements: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Basic understanding or interest in carbon markets and sustainability.
Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets for data management and analysis.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn tools such as Google BigQuery, Python, PowerBI, and OpenAI technologies.
Experience with these is a plus but not obligatory.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
