Shop ForemanThe Foreman position assists the Service Manager in managing the activities of all Service Technicians, ensuring exceptional customer service and the attainment of Lithia's performance targets. This individual assists with hiring, training, and development of all technician levels.
ResponsibilitiesTechnician Staff Recruiting, Training and DevelopmentThe foreman is responsible for production and quality controlStaff department in order to optimize customer opportunities and productivity.Ensure technical staff are properly trained and have the breadth of experience necessary to cover customer needs.Develop staff by setting and communicating performance/production expectations, monitoring performance, identifying development needs, coaching, and mentoring.Customer EngagementResolve customer requests, questions, and concerns in a professional, friendly, and prompt manner.Develop a production plan each monthBreak down the store performance expectation for flat rate hours to a daily numberThen match the daily SPE by technician and set technician daily objectivesMeet with each technician every day and review performance to objectiveReport to the service manager the results of the interviews and develop an action plan for any issues that need to be addressed.Inspect repair orders daily for legibility, accuracy, and legality.Ensure that all manufacturer policies and procedures are followed.Manage the administration, tracking, and follow-up required to stay current on warranty and receivables.Read, understand and take action on MIS to generate maximum revenue and control expenses.Inspect and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of all service areas in accordance with state and federal OSHA laws to ensure a professional, safe environment for customers and employees.Administrative FunctionsHold daily and monthly staff meetings as required covering key information.Receive, communicate and hold staff accountable to policy and procedure requirements and updates.Complete body shop department reporting and month-end procedures on time.Other administrative duties as required.Skills and QualificationsCurrent and valid driver's license is requiredStrong attention to detailSense of urgencyExcellent communication - written and verbalTyping – ability to type efficientlyASE Certified in all eight specialty areas8+ years of experience as a technicianCompetenciesDoes the right thing, takes action and adapts to changeSelf-motivates, believes in accountability, focuses on results, makes plans and follows throughBelieves in humility, shares best practices, desires to keep learning, measures performance and adapts to improve resultsThrives on a team, stays positive, lives our valuesWe offer best in class industry benefits:Competitive payMedical, Dental and Vision PlansPaid Holidays & PTOShort and Long-Term DisabilityPaid Life Insurance401(k) Retirement PlanEmployee Stock Purchase PlanLithia Learning CenterVehicle Purchase DiscountsWellness ProgramsHigh School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.
