Position: Senior Product Design Engineer for BIW repairs & Spare parts documentation, RD/IGS
Function: Spare parts ManagementQualification: Graduate/ Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Experience: 4 to 10 years in relevant domain.

What is GCSP? GCSP is the bridge between RD and retailers that ensures the wellness of every vehicle produced until its lifecycle ends. GCSP directly affects our retailers & workshops and ensures customer satisfaction throughout their vehicle use experience. Overall, GCSP generates more than 30% revenue for the entire organization.
For this, every component of every vehicle needs to be understood to define the best ways for service and maintenance. Technical understanding of entire vehicle systems in relation to the design and manufacturing environment is crucial.
1. Job Overview:You will be responsible for defining repair concepts for BIW parts for service and maintenance of vehicles, along with designing, defining, and documenting spare parts for the related components. You will work closely with colleagues from R&D of BIW and workshops to define the best ways to repair vehicles.
2. Principal Accountability· You will be accountable for the BIW repairs projects involved in Parts management.
· You will enhance BiW domain expertise regarding after-sales.
· You will carry responsibility for committed projects, resource planning, and aligning work with department strategy while maintaining Quality, Cost, and Time.
· You will ensure KPIs of the projects are monitored, tracked, and targets achieved as per yearly agreements.
· QMS standards are to be followed, tracked, and monitored regularly.
· You will connect with all stakeholders regularly for partner engagement and escalation management when required.
· You are expected to participate in innovation and continuous improvement activities.
· You should improve your and your team's competencies over time.
3. Skill-Sets/Experience· You have domain expertise in BIW components and connecting elements design.
· You hold expertise in UG NX in surfacing, sheet metal, joining elements workbench, and Team Centre.
· You are an expert in Engineering change management and release documentation, with knowledge of variants control and BOM management.
· You are responsible for BiW spare parts definition in NPP, series, and after-series phases.
· You have knowledge of manufacturing methodology, tools, assembly, and welding fixtures.
· PPAP exposure or knowledge is an advantage.
· You have working experience in products relevant to repair workshops, and your experience with the latest manufacturing technologies should be visible from your deliverables.
· Your deep understanding of the Product Development process in series and aftersales influences faster decision-making by headquarters in Germany.
· Hands-on experience in assembling and dismantling vehicle parts will be helpful.
· Your communicative strength and assertiveness allow you to lead discussions on the technical feasibility of BIW manufacturing techniques with various colleagues.
· Awareness of QMS standards and experience in CAD methodology, norms, DBL standards, and tools is an added advantage.
· Knowledge of the Mercedes-Benz portfolio is an added advantage.
· German language proficiency is necessary.
