Our Government Relations (GR) team is responsible for high-level, strategic engagement with external stakeholders globally, including but not limited to, political office holders, governmental bodies, trade and industry associations, ministries, and non-governmental organizations.
Responsibilities:
Lead the monitoring of and engagement with developments in policy making and regional sentiment and their impact on the industry
Lead MiCA and DORA consultation work, policy making and support implementation to business
Lead policy engagement with ESMA and prudential EU regulators regarding blockchain-focused regulatory initiatives and implementation
Oversee projects across a wide range of topics including regulatory outreach, engagement, and planning and coordinating events and meetings
Collaborate with external stakeholders and field requests and queries from partners
Engage with external stakeholders and help them understand major product developments, launches, policy changes, or technology updates
Work cross-functionally with teams across legal, compliance, product, technology, communications and others to understand priorities and develop custom projects where necessary
Serve as the government relations and policy spokesperson for Binance Europe
Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience working in the EU region leading a GR team or within government or political bodies, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations in the region
Prior blockchain and/or cryptocurrency policy experience with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA)
Prior blockchain and/or cryptocurrency policy experience with at least one key EU prudential regulator (central bank, financial services authority, etc.)
Strong understanding of MiCA legislation and Level 2 measures
Strong understanding of the crypto industry and technologies, the policy, and political environments that surround them
Work experience at European Commission and/or ESMA strongly preferred
Work experience at a blockchain and/or cryptocurrency-focused EU policy body or advocacy group strongly preferredIn depth knowledge and understanding of the region's social and political dynamics
Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex technical and regulatory issues
Ability to lead campaigns and to work independently as well as leading a team
Preferably French and English fluency
