Job SummaryThe Electrician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance work that could involve the use and operation of complex and highly technical equipment and techniques. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. He/she will ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Education & ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.At least three years progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful.Current certifications and/or credentials.General RequirementsMaintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.Comply with Wyndham Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.Perform other duties as requested by management.Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.Performing other duties as assigned.
