Job Purpose Coordinate, monitor, and manage operations within Vueling's airline network, following specific regulatory and internal standards, in order to ensure punctual departures and effective management of flight disruptions and cancellations, achieving company-defined on-time performance targets.
Main Accountabilities Secure adherence to scheduled departure times and operational guidelines to maintain high on-time performance (OTP) metrics and avoid disruptions.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between maintenance, traffic control, and ground services to streamline operations and address any potential issues swiftly.
Continuously assess weather updates to anticipate and manage potential impacts on flight schedules, ensuring decisions enhance safety and punctuality.
Implement strategic decisions during operational disruptions such as technical issues or severe weather, minimizing delay impacts and maintaining service standards.
Regularly review and comply with international and domestic aviation regulations to prevent legal infractions and operational penalties.
Negotiate and secure necessary flight permissions from international and national authorities to ensure seamless operations across varied jurisdictions.
Keep abreast of all significant aeronautical communications that affect the airline's routes and operations, ensuring compliance and operational safety.
Carefully assign flights based on the operational status of aircraft systems, such as lighting, to prevent misassignments that could lead to delays or cancellations.
Adapt flight and ground operations quickly in response to logistical changes at airports, ensuring minimal disruption to the flight schedule and passenger experience.
Strategically manage personnel allocation and passenger bookings to optimize flight capacity and minimize negative impacts on customer satisfaction.
Ensure all relevant parties are informed about current operations, potential delays, and changes to facilitate coordinated responses and maintain service standards.
Main Responsibilities - Tasks Ensure the operational security and punctuality of all flights Coordinate with various departments to manage day-to-day operations.
Monitor meteorological conditions and adjust operations accordingly Manage disruptions and coordinate responses across departments.
Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to airspace restrictions.
Handle permits for overflights and landings, especially in sensitive regions Maintain continuous oversight of NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen).
Manage night-time flight assignments based on aircraft limitations.
Respond proactively to terminal or gate changes and equipment swaps.
Monitor and address staff shortages and overbooking issues.
Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders about operational statuses and disruptions.
Education Formal training and certification in flight dispatch operations.
Experience   At least two years of experience in flight dispatch or similar roles within the aviation industry.
Competencies   Leadership and coordination skills.
Sense of urgency.
Ability to work with uncertainty.
Ability to make decisions quickly under pressure.
Languages   Fluency in English and Spanish.
Other   In-depth knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Understanding of aviation regulations and compliance standards.
Familiarity with systems used to monitor and control flight operations, including NOTAMs and air traffic management technologies.
Experience in managing disruptions such as weather delays, technical failures, or emergencies.
