Chevron's Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires, is accepting applications for the position of Data Scientist. Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1300 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe.
Our Data Scientists combine mathematics and statistics, computer science, and domain knowledge to design and develop models that generate valuable business insights that help advance Chevron's business objectives.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
1. Identify and frame opportunities to apply advanced analytics, modeling, and related technologies to data to help Chevron gain insight and improve decision making, workflow, and automation.
2. Identify data necessary and appropriate technologies to solve identified business challenges.
3. Cleanse data, develop and test models. Establish model's life cycle management process.
4. Work closely with data engineers and developers to provide requirements to operationalize models into business workflows.
Required Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated competency in data science and analytics with a focus on statistical methods.
2. Proficiency and experience coding in statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Matlab, SAS, SQL, and/or JMP) and environments (e.g., RStudio, Databricks, Anaconda, etc.).
3. Ability to learn and evaluate technical information to synthesize meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
4. Demonstrated effective facilitation & communication skills (face-to-face meetings, presentations, written, verbal).
Preferred Qualifications:
1.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and tools in its ecosystem.
