As a Workshop Controller, you are responsible for planning, controlling and delivering overall workshop performance. You will work alongside the Service Manager to oversee the running of a busy workshop, maintaining productivity, efficiency, and quality of work.
This is a critical role within the aftersales operation.
Main duties will include:Managing and coaching a team of Commercial Vehicle Technicians (CVTs) and Apprentice CVTsEnsuring all service work is carried out correctly, competently, and within manufacturer timingsAssisting CVTs with technical challenges and helping them to come to the right outcomeLiaising with Service and Parts Advisors to update on customer mattersParticipating in aftersales meetingsDetermining training requirements for your team, in line with manufacturer standardsEssential skills and experience:The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
Relevant experience in the automotive industry and sound knowledge of workshop working practicesExcellent leadership and proven people management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing demandsTechnical knowledge gained through technical qualification or relevant experienceKnowledge of HGV/LCV inspection standards & road legal requirements/documentationOrganised with the ability to prioritise tasks in a systematic mannerThe ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues across other departmentsProficiency in IT; all aspects of MS Office and a Dealer Management System, preferably KerridgeIn addition to a competitive market salary, you will enjoy enhanced benefits which include:
