The Latin America and Canada (LAC) Chief Data Office is a new business-centric team, part of the wider Corporate & Investment Banking Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) but with a firmwide mandate for the LAC region.
The LAC Chief Data Officer is responsible for the regional implementation and execution of the Firm's data governance and strategy, ensuring that global firmwide and/or Corporate & Investment Banking data policies, standards, and procedures are applied consistently across the regional businesses, legal entities, and countries.
Job Responsibilities
1. Support the Chief Data Office executives in defining and executing on global and local data strategy.
2. Lead and own specific data workstreams (privacy, data storage, etc.)
in ensuring compliance with global firmwide policies and local regulatory requirements.
3. Develop reporting/metrics to support governance meetings and managers with supervisory responsibilities.
4. Lead and execute specific projects required by local regulatory requirements.
5. Promote awareness of data culture across all LOBs, conduct data governance training and communication strategy/campaign.
6. Foster strong partnerships with Business Managers, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
2. 8-10 years of experience in operations/controls/technology/data-related fields similar in leading financial institutions.
3. Experience interacting with groups from different countries in the Latin America Region.
4. Possess a good understanding of banking products and overall understanding of the regulatory landscape of the Latin America Region.
5. Good understanding of data flows and data controls.

Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills (Spanish and English), along with the ability to tailor a message to various levels of management.
7. Strong aptitude to work with a wide range of line of businesses and functions.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Highly motivated individual with excellent time management & organizational skills.
10. Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (including PitchPro).
11. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, flexible and capable of engaging various functions, locations, and businesses.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
1. Knowledge in technology and data-related fields.
2. Proficiency in Portuguese Language.
