The LATAM Transport department is looking for a Transport Professional to ensure components are delivered safely, timely, and cost-effectively as planned and in compliance with Customs and TAX regulations where Vestas operates, overseeing and managing materials and equipment within LATAM with a main focus in LAT South countries.
The general purpose is to oversee and manage the transportation of materials and tools for wind turbines and their components within factories, warehouses, and wind sites.
Responsibilities Taking SAFETY and QUALITY as the forerunner of delivering the expected result.Ensure that all LSP are instructed and following safety procedures in all operations.Coordinate with all involved stakeholders, including different Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and Transport companies to ensure LATAM shipments are properly on track and reported, following customs and tax compliance.Cross-functional collaboration with a proactive approach with stakeholders such as Supply Chain, Service, Construction, Factories, and Procurement to ensure compliance with safety, customs, tax, finance, account, and systems processes.Plan and coordinate reverse logistics of transport equipment returning to the factories and sites.Prepare reports, schedules, and analysis required by the Regional/Global Transport teams.Close cooperation within the transport team to improve operations in the region and meet the KPIs from the transport department.Investigate and support problem-solving of delivery and transport quality issues, monitor and report transport risks.Monitor, track, and continuously improve transport performance.Assist with the Transport Budget preparation & control process, ensuring high integrity in our numbers by having accurate figures in Inbound reports and a high-quality budget based on well-documented assumptions.Control transport forecast/spend reporting risks & opportunities.Work to optimize and reduce overall logistics and customs costs.Audit invoices / control payments of nominated service providers.Support the team to recover NCR/Claim costs disputes. Qualifications and Competencies Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, or International Studies/Foreign Trade preferred.5 or more years of experience in a similar position focused on Logistics/Transport in the region.Solid understanding of international trade terminology.Comprehensive knowledge of logistics operations and practices, with in-depth knowledge and hands-on Transport & Customs setup mainly in LAT South Countries.Solid systems skills including proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), preferably including hands-on experience in Power BI and SAP BI.Advanced English language skills, written and spoken.
Portuguese is a plus.Knowledge of SAP.Proactive, self-driven, motivated, hands-on, focused on results.Good problem-solving mindset, proactive, and with a drive to make continuous improvements.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to make recommendations and perform work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to work in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders, working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
