We are looking to add a linguist to assist with project management and QA tasks . (Pacific Time).
The tasks for the position include: Managing Translation, Localization & Proofreading Projects Lead translation project kick-off, including budget and schedule Build teams of linguists to meet clients' expectations Ensure projects run within budget Be a liaison between linguists and clients Proactively assess project risk Create project instructions to ensure translated content meets clients' expectations Manage project finances and purchase orders Run strict QA controls Address and resolve issues that may arise during production Maintain constant communication with client Develop best practices and document lessons learned Support the role of the Lead LR when this person is out (once a week, plus occasional hours during the week). These linguistic review tasks include: Review final edited translation and proofreading files. Answer/resolve linguists' pending questions Update terminology in files to latest/most recent changes by client (so recent that they are not yet captured in TM/glossary). Ensure the translations are consistent. Make suggestions to improve wordings Discuss with Lead LR, Account Manager, or Client on critical changes that need to be made. Support & brainstorm with the Lead LR to find answers to critical linguistic questions.
For new campaigns, provide translation/insight/feedback on headlines/taglines.
Work with copyrighters in choosing/creating options of translations of headlines.
Meet with the terminology team once or sometimes twice weekly.
Support Language Lead or other PM in updating the TM/glossary, when necessary.
Negotiate with client linguistic choices, presenting TTT's preferences and rationale when needed.
Once client provides feedback, review client feedback to make sure it works linguistically; implement client changes if needed.
Flag any linguistic inconsistencies introduced by recent client changes.
