Description
Responsible for supporting production with chemical analysis and monitoring of critical materials and plant processes (e.g. pretreatment, e-coat) to ensure strict adherence to Mercedes-Benz quality standards. The incumbent will also provide technical support for investigations and problem-solving. Calibration/verification of analytical equipment and adherence to SHEQ standards will form part of the scope of work of the technician.
The Job Requirements Knowledge of analytical equipment and test methods e.g. titrations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Analytical and conceptual thinking. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function. People's Principles as per LEAD. Responsible for analysis, monitoring and evaluation of materials (e.g. brake fluid, coolant, etc.) and plant processes (e.g. metal pretreatment, e-coat) to ensure optimal quality standards and customer satisfaction. Assists with investigations and problem-solving. Conducts material evaluation as per the ISIR process. Conducts calibration/verification of equipment. Ensures adherence to SHEQ standards. Responsible for self-development. Ensures departmental operational plans are achieved e.g. deadlines Performs delegated S.H.E.Q tasks and duties & informs superior about deviations. Ensure compliance with the Company's Integrity & Anti-Bribery Codes, Conflict of Interest Policy & S.H.E.Q requirements. Qualifications Minimum NQF 7 - Degree in Chemistry or relevant equivalent, or At least 6 months of participation in our MBSA Graduate Development Programme.
