ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Technical Auditor will perform compliance audits, providing an independent review of security controls and information systems. The individual will plan the audit, including determining the scope and approach; will perform fieldwork using an evidence based approach; will prepare audit reports, writing technical reports that analyze /interpret audit results; will track audit findings to resolution; and will perform follow up reviews.
These independent reviews will evaluate internal systems against established controls and policies, examining procedures, system's records, and operational activities to determine the adequacy of system controls, to ensure compliance with established security policies and procedures, and to recommend any changes that are indicated for countermeasures. Individual will also perform vendor audits to ensure adherence to contract requirements, security posture, and business continuity/disaster recover capabilities.
ABOUT YOU Understanding of auditing principles and concepts including creating an audit plan, performing audits, collecting and evaluating evidence, preparing audit reports, and tracking audit findings.
Ability to gather audit data, analyze evidence received against control objectives, identify findings especially red flags, and prepare reports summarizing findings.
Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Oracle, and UNIX with the ability to perform control reviews on systems, operation, and security procedures and standards.
Understanding of networking and network design, including the ability to assess the security health of networks.
Should have a broad knowledge of IT service and security management processes including
Vulnerability management Asset management Change management User access management Security logging, malware, and antivirus Must be self-driven and able to work independently
Strong attention to detail, analytical, and statistical skills, as well as strong communication and multitasking skills.
Good computer skills and experience with MS Office software programs.
Knowledge of ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI controls beneficial
