About the Role
The Staff Full-Stack Engineer will be a key technical leader within the Servicing Platform team. This team is the core engineering organization at the center of all programs. The mission is to build a world-class platform to enable clients to create, manage, understand, and use their insurance and empower insurance professionals to serve clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Servicing Platform Engineering Team, working through ambiguity and concept validation to implement best-in-class solutions.
- Drive initiatives across multiple domains, including core insurance data, admin ecosystem, client-facing ecosystem, and AI/LLM powered applications.
- Identify areas of improvement and drive foundational opportunities on both web and backend.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, product,
and data science to deliver high-quality products.
- Follow a data-driven approach to iterate product features and drive cross-collaboration.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure code quality, commitment to craft, and operational excellence.
- Drive rapid prototyping of software applications using AI/ML technologies, leading development from ML model design to backend and frontend implementation.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7-10 years of experience in leading web application development at scale.
- Experience using TypeScript on the backend.
- Familiarity with JavaScript backend frameworks such as Express, Node.js, or Nest.js.
- Proficiency with web development best practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment.
- Strong experience with RDBMS such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proven track record of leading engineering project teams and working with cross-functional partners.
- Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to design and architect moderately complex systems.
- Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
Bonus Points
- Experience with data pipelines and data-driven analytics.
- Experience with deploying or leveraging ML models and LLMs to power business applications.
- Strong understanding of popular AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
