Job Description
SSVI Consultant
Design and Implement L3 network infrastructures in Data Centers from scratch to support Video Management Systems (VMS) and other applications such as Video Analytics, Integrated Command & Control Centers, including IP camera deployments, NVRs, and video analytics servers.
Work with L2 support teams to resolve escalated networking issues related to VMS systems.
Lead the implementation of VMS platforms, including software configuration, network integration, and camera connectivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of video surveillance systems into the existing network architecture.
Optimize video streaming and storage solutions based on customer requirements, ensuring minimal latency and high availability.
Implement security best practices for network and video data transmission, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with security teams to maintain and enhance network and VMS security, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption protocols.
Create and maintain technical documentation for VMS implementation, including network diagrams, configuration settings, and troubleshooting guides.
Generate reports on system performance, network traffic, and video data storage usage.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (RTSP, SFTP, IGMP, PIM, SNMP, iSCSI,TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, QoS, VLANs, etc.).
Experience with Video Management Systems and IP camera solutions.
Proficiency in configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networking equipment.
Knowledge of network security protocols (SSL/TLS, IPsec) and best practices for video data protection.
Familiarity with cloud-based VMS solutions and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience:
5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on video management or surveillance system implementation.
Experience working with enterprise-level video surveillance systems and large-scale network environments.
Proven experience troubleshooting complex network and VMS issues at an L3 support level.
Certifications:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications.
Certifications related to video management systems (e.g., Milestone Certified Integration Technician) are a plus.
