We are looking for a Qualified Spray Painter with Body Building/Refinishing Background to join our Ingleburn Aftersales facility. In this hands-on position, you will have a strong drive and motivation to succeed and be able to work in a safety-conscious environment.
Position enjoys a monthly RDO. Pay rate is market competitive and depends on experience and qualifications. This will be a permanent full-time opportunity and paid as per our Enterprise Agreement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare parts and surfaces for painting or coating by removing dirt, rust, and any loose/old paint.Paint vehicles and parts using various paint finishes.Properly mask areas which are not being painted and remove tape at the completion of the job.Apply rust-proof undercoats and primers using a spray gun.Identify and touch up any defective areas.Manage paint stock inventory levels and liaise with representatives.Safe use of spray paint tools and equipment such as spray guns, pressure pots, etc.Compliance with WHS policies and procedures.Able to paint metallics and 2K paints.Sanding surfaces by hand alongside automatic tools.Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint.Rectifying and polishing finished paintwork where necessary.Removing damaged panels and parts, and removing upholstery and accessories to gain access where required.Removing minor dents and scratches where necessary.QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: Qualified in Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (AUR32420) or equivalent.Previous experience in spray painting and panel/body repairs on heavy vehicles.Assessing damaged vehicles with advice on quoting and timeframes for repairs.Quality assurance and commissioning of finished repairs.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.(MR) license preferred but not mandatory.Previous exposure and experience in a vehicle manufacturing/service paint/panel environment will be highly regarded.This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation, and hearing test.
