Job Description - Software Update and Diagnostic Engineer (MER0003HC9) Group: Mercedes-Benz Group AG
Description: Responsible for the whole software update solution integration and diagnostic service function based on latest Mercedes-Benz E/E architecture.Responsible for customer requirements, system requirements, software requirements design, planning and implementation in each PI to meet program milestones for software update function and diagnostic service.Analyze system level and SW issues, locate root causes, and lead the team to fix them.Responsible for validation of E2E SW update function and diagnostic function and function release.Support software update and diagnostic regulation compliance certificate and filling testing activities.Responsible for change/risk control, delivery timing tracking, problem resolution of software update function and diagnostic service in vehicle development life cycles (design/development/production/post-production) to ensure successful delivery.Support other related teams like vehicle testing, validation, and manufacture.Qualifications: Education: · Bachelor degree or above, 6+ years working experience, 3+ years working experience in software update or diagnostic service requirement, design, implementation, and project execution in the automotive industry.
Experience: · Experience in software update management, ADAS embedded systems, or consumer electronics.
· Proficient with vehicle software update and diagnostic update features, requirements, technical logic, and operation processes; capable of providing design/solution independently.
· Good understanding and/or knowledge of automotive electronics architecture.
· Familiar with vehicle buses, e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and bus protocols like UDS, DOIP, SOME/IP, and related diagnostic mechanisms.
· Good knowledge of Autosar 4.x architecture, configuration management, and debugging using CANoe/DTS9.
· Fluent oral English communication capability with internal/global teams and customers.
· Teamwork spirit, communication skills, task and work planning skills, and self-motivated.
Knowledge: · Familiarity with SoC/MCP/MPU platform hardware and software architecture is preferred.
· Familiarity with China and European software update regulations and SUMS management system is preferred.
· Knowledge of Linux/Android/QNX environment and OS is preferred.
· Experience in software update or diagnostic update software development is preferred.
