Job Description - Service Advisor (MER00035M1) Description The mission of the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Service Advisor is to be responsible for service sales and gross profit, and for proper handling of service customers. By his/her actions, the Service Advisor influences the volume of service business and plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction.
The Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Service Advisor must provide a consistently outstanding brand and customer experience through consistently outstanding preparation, attitude, and teamwork. They must determine needed maintenance and diagnose the cause of malfunction or refer to a test technician as necessary.
ResponsibilitiesProvide clear estimates for labor and parts.If the cost of service cannot be established during reception, determine diagnosis charges and contact the customer for approval of final repair.Follow up on the progress of each repair during the day, contacting the customer for estimates and time changes.Record changes on repair orders in an approved fashion.Handle telephone calls regarding work in process, appointments, technical, and service-related inquiries.Compare final invoices with original repair orders and analyze quality control reports.Deliver vehicles to customers.Pre-delivery via telephone upon completion of repairs.Handle all customer contacts in a professional manner.Show enthusiasm and commitment to customer care to ensure customer satisfaction.Inspect each vehicle during write-up to verify stated complaints and look for any needed additional work.Make sure all sublets are handled through the Parts Department using the golden rod copy to the repair order.Write up and follow new, used, and encore lease cars.Prepare proper estimates in a timely manner.Maintain a clean and safe work area.Able to commute into and out of Manhattan/New York City on a daily basis.The pay range is $50,000 - $120,000. This position is heavily commissioned.
Qualifications Ability to use Dealer Information Systems.Must have 2 years of Service Advisor experience.High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience.Must have a valid driver's license.Must be able to work Saturdays and holidays when required.Familiarity with ISO9001 Standards.Able to withstand the physical demands of the position.Must be articulate, enthusiastic, a self-motivated team player, and maintain a positive attitude.OrganizationMercedes-Benz Manhattan, Inc.
