What you can expect in this role: To support its growing operations, international expansion, SOX compliance and ongoing continuous disclosure requirements, Bitfarms is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst – Taxation to join our LATAM team.
Reporting to the Finance Director LATAM and to the Vice President, Tax & Sustainability, the Senior Financial Analyst – Taxation will be responsible for the calculation of tax provision and related financial statement disclosures for quarterly reporting, and the preparation of annual income tax filings for LATAM. The role also includes the preparation of VAT and turnover tax returns including self-assessments and the maintenance of all tax accounts. Additionally, continuous process improvements to maintain SOX compliance and other special projects.
More specifically, here are some of the key responsibilities: Preparation of quarterly tax provision for all entities in Argentina and Paraguay, and tax note disclosures, and co-ordinating with head office Tax team and external audit firm in quarterly review and year-end audits (25%). Preparation, review of month-end closing tasks related to income tax accounts and VAT filings and analysis in Argentina and Paraguay (15%). Monthly review of automatic income tax withholding calculation in D365 and tax return presentation (10%). Tax audit support, including research on issues raised by auditors and preparation of responses (10%). Documenting the Company's tax related accounting policies in accordance with IFRS and maintenance of tax accounts in coordination with head office Tax Manager (10%). Preparation of year-end tax returns for all entities in Argentina and Paraguay, related instalment analysis (25%). Assist in other special projects, ad hoc reporting requirements and SOX requirements (5%). Here's the profile we're looking for: CPA designation. 3+ years of experience involving the preparation of IFRS tax provisions and returns; Big Four experience is an asset. Strong knowledge of IFRS for tax reporting. Strong knowledge of tax laws in Argentina and Paraguay. Strong Microsoft Office suite user (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint). Advanced English level is required due to the periodical contact with the corporate team. Good to have: Inquisitive mind and desire to learn in an emerging industry. Strong work ethic and sense of ownership. Team player who can also work independently and well with others. Flexible and adaptable; experience working in a dynamic environment would be an asset. Good problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics / Navision, Workiva and Jet Reports would be an asset).
