Senior Software Engineer - Core (Czechia)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the development team behind Azul Zulu builds of OpenJDK, one of the most popular OpenJDK builds in the world.
Along the OpenJDK builds, we are responsible for Azul Mission Control (ZMC), ZIUpdater, and other related projects.
We also have a considerable impact on Java development and the whole Java community.
Your presence in Czechia and a valid working visa is required for this role.
What you'll doContribute to the functionality, quality, and timely delivery of the builds of OpenJDK.Design and implement new product features and enhancements.Participate in OpenJDK development.Provide technical expertise to field engineering and customer services.What you'll bringStrong proficiency in C/C++.Core Java understanding (just a plus).Experience with at least one scripting language: sh/bash/ksh, PowerShell, etc.Good understanding of operating system concepts: file systems, networking protocols, processes, IPC, etc.Familiarity with tooling: debuggers (gdb, windbg, etc.), profilers.Solid understanding of basic Computer Science concepts (data structures and algorithms).Experience in low-level and system programming is a big plus: concurrent programming, synchronization, memory management, language runtimes, memory standard libraries, etc.Familiarity with programming for Linux/Windows/macOS, Solaris is a plus.Experience with assembly for x86/ARM is a plus.BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent.What we offerComprehensive compensation and healthcare packages.Equity Program – be part of our success.Referral Program.Work-life balance, remote-first, paid time off, company shutdown, holidays.Work with top experts worldwide who contribute to the Java ecosystem.
