Senior Python Developer

We are looking for an experienced Python engineer who is passionate about building SaaS applications and platforms. You will be responsible for designing and building the features for a SaaS platform, and ensuring software development adheres to the best practices.

Our company develops software and tools for most of the Yachts and sea services in all the US, one of the biggest software companies in the industry and available on Nasdaq for many years.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and maintain robust backend solutions using Python and FastAPI framework.
2. Leverage AWS services including ECS and OpenSearch to build scalable, high-performance systems.
3.
Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
4. Ensure data integrity and security by utilizing best practices in database management, specifically with Postgres.
5. Develop and maintain API contracts and documentation to ensure consistent interactions and data exchanges within a microservices architecture.
6. Write comprehensive application and API tests to ensure the functionality and performance of new and existing features.
7. Engage in system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and ensure system reliability and availability.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Requirements:

1. Strong knowledge of Python (5+ years)
2. Experience with FastAPI (2+ years)
3. Solid understanding of unit testing and experience with pytest framework
4. Understanding and practical experience with Scrum / Agile methodologies
5. Experience with code linters (mypy, flake8, bandit, isort, etc.)
6. Hands-on experience with OpenSearch / ElasticSearch or similar search engine
7.
Strong experience in systems architecture design and development
8. Familiar with Figma, Datadog, Slack, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills
11. Self-motivated, ability to work independently
12. Experience writing application/API tests and automated SDLC processes

Bonus:

1. React experience is a big plus.
2. Exceptional problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently and tackle challenges head-on.
3. Strong experience in AWS environments is highly preferred.
4. Proficient in microservice and event-driven service design, with an ability to architect highly scalable and flexible systems.
