Summary: As the Senior Manager of Product Engineering, you will have the opportunity to provide tactical, strategic, and technical leadership for software engineering groups that support a critical business domain.
In this role, you will report to the Vice President, Technology for an assigned Platform and support the stable teams including Architects, Developers, Business Analysts, Software Project Managers, Cloud Engineers, Security Engineers, and Quality Engineers.
You will do this by coordinating and managing the daily activities of group members in assigned work areas and resolving day-to-day issues, workflow, and business issues.
You are also expected to leverage industry experience, processes, and tools to improve team operations and to build and maintain a supportive, cooperative, and cohesive work environment.
The Senior Manager of Product Engineering will:
Coordinate the work of Architects, Developers, Business Systems Analysts, Quality Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Security Engineers, and Software Project Managers that operate within stable agile teams to ensure products and services meet requirements and expectations of the stakeholders. Regularly coordinate with other functional teams and 3rd party vendors as well as disciplines like Product Strategy, Program Management, and Configuration Management. Represent the team's work to important internal and external stakeholder groups, working with them to understand their needs and resolve their issues through the following core responsibilities: Product Delivery: Represent team capacity and work with the business and clients to schedule prioritized projects. Understand resource requirements and formulate strategies to meet stakeholder needs. Engage with other teams to ensure successful coordination of project dependencies. Collaborate with Project Managers to drive work to successful completion. Technology Leadership: Identify areas for technical improvement and create plans to address. Process Management: Provide leadership around agile development processes and emerging trends in engineering best practices. Work with Product Development leadership on process initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Engage in the prioritization process for management of the organization's backlog of work. People Management: Provide one-on-one coaching and direction for team members. Set goals and provide feedback for team members' performance reviews. Provide responsible management of compensation plans for staff. Recruit and retain high-performing staff with skills that meet the team's needs. Required Education and Experience: Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work well through ambiguity and make tough decisions. Agility in leadership to take on challenges with growing business needs. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Passion for agile software development and continuous improvement. The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $130,000 - $170,000.
