Summary OKTO is looking for a qualified senior Legal Counsel based preferably in Mexico, Chile, Peru or Argentina to support from legal perspective the business activities of OKTO in Latin America. It will be considered a plus if you have considerable experience with Legal and Compliance within a reputable law firm or a Bank based in Latin America.
Responsibilities · Drafting, review and negotiation of any kind of contracts necessary for the support of the Company's business activities in Latam (i.e. product contracts, commercial cooperation agreements or agreements with local payment system providers etc);
· Legal and regulatory assessment of new product propositions for Latin America.
· Ensure that any and all regulatory permissions remain current and appropriate for business needs;
· Ensure that business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures;
· Responsible for providing legal support in controlling customer complaints to mitigate the risk of litigation;
Review all documentation that has legal implications for the Company prior to signing and implementing. · Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives;
· Coordinate Licensing Process
Where required, providing advice on specific issues relating to AML following coordination with the Compliance Team· Liaise with auditors, external lawyers, tax advisers, and other key external parties;
· Liaison with all the subsidiaries within the Company's Group, service providers, external legal advisers, and competent governmental or regulatory bodies;
The Senior Legal Counsel shall have a dual report line to Okto's General Counsel and the new business and partnerships Director responsible for the expansion of business activities in Latin America.
LLB, LLM, Banking, Corporate Finance Law studies will be an asset.-Principles of Financial Regulation -Corporate Finance Law -Corporate and Business Taxation -Competition Law
