Senior Backend Engineer We are one of the fastest-growing podcast & audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Community team.
Join us on the quest to shape the way people learn, discover, and unwind through audio experiences and thereby enrich lives through listening.
This is the role As a member of our Payments Core squad, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing payment features.
Your work will involve supporting and enhancing payment and subscription functionalities, ensuring seamless integration and stability across our systems.
You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional squads to understand business objectives, propose innovative solutions, and contribute to our Payments strategy.
Your main responsibilities will include building and maintaining high-quality payment features, driving squad deliverables, and upholding robust code standards to deliver a smooth and reliable user experience.
Your main responsibilities in this role: Work on high-quality feature implementation in Kotlin, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and allow for regression testing Participate in technical discussions with your peers This is you You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy collaborating with talented people, all on the same mission to enrich life through listening.

Experience we're looking for: You have 5+ years of experience in Kotlin / Java or any other JVM-language You have good experience using Spring Boot and experience in developing REST APIs Strong OOP knowledge You have experience in using PostgreSQL or any other relational database You have experience in using PubSub, Kafka or similar messaging solutions You have some experience/are willing to working with containers and utilizing tools like Kubernetes You have some experience/are willing to work with Async programming You have good communication skills in English as this is our company language across our markets Having knowledge or experience with GraphQL is a benefit Experience in designing and developing microservices is an advantage Knowledge of financial domain is an advantage Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!

Salary ranges from 7000-8500 EUR GROSS depending on experience, location, and seniority.
