Who we are looking for: BDC is looking for a skilled, detail-oriented accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization.
The accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
To be successful as an accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills.
An outstanding accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

What you will be working on: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the preparation, analysis and interpretation of the general ledger and corresponding financial statements in accordance with our funds' requirements, policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsible for the Founders/CEO's personal and corporate expenses. Month-end journal entries from accounting transactions over the calendar month including A/R and Bank Reconciliations, operating accruals accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll and utilities, cash flow, bank account statement reconciliations, check and wire processing, fixed asset tracking.
Review all inter-company transactions, generating appropriate actions and invoices as necessary.
Update all required schedules for maintaining the balance sheet, complete bank, and accounts receivable reconciliations. Maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Maintain systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information.
Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
About You: We are looking for an individual with operating experience with a company who has dealings with venture capital and/or private equity and their expectations. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field 5+ years' hands on experience Hands on experience with full cycle AR, AP Need multi-company, intercompany transaction experience Experience with QBO, Teams, SharePoint, Office365 – experience with BillPay online desirable. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with fund and partnership accounting preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
Attention to detail, ability to work independently.
Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
