Description
With the rapid expansion of the automotive market in China, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced UI software domain project lead to join our R&D team in Beijing (Wangjing area). UI Software Team is dedicated to creating cutting-edge, China-specific telematics systems while also contributing to the development of global features for Mercedes-Benz cars.
As Section Lead, UI PO Android, you will be responsible for leading UI POs for RSE and future Android projects to drive the definition of the project scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the needs of our growing customer base. You will coordinate resources, align project tasks within a team consisting of UI PM, UI POs, and developer groups in China and globally to meet project delivery timelines and monitor progress, managing the risks to ensure that one or several carline UI software project deliverables meet the highest quality standards.
By working closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development partners both in China and globally, you will play a vital role in driving the success of products and delivering a superior experience to Mercedes-Benz customers worldwide.
Define project scope, objectives, and timelines for UI domains for RSE & future Android projects, ensuring alignment with customer needs and overall project objectives. Coordinate resources and align project tasks with team members, monitoring progress to ensure that project deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Collaborate with UI Product Manager, Concept & design responsibles, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to facilitate seamless project execution. Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that the development team is focused on the most valuable features and tasks.Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management, providing visibility into the progress and challenges faced by the team. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration and effective problem-solving.Act as the primary point of contact with system UI and build channels for regular sync with HQ relevant domains. Plan and participate in SAFE PI planning actively ensuring timely delivery of tasks in line with project requirements. Proactively identify risks and drive for problem solving.Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to ensure that UI product maintains a competitive edge. Identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement, working closely with product managers, concept & design, and other stakeholders to define new product ideas and initiatives.Continuously refine and improve product development processes, incorporating feedback from team members and stakeholders to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall project outcomes. Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, to ensure alignment and effective execution of project tasks.Qualifications
College degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or appropriate graduation)Strong knowledge of user interface product management, preferably with at least 3 years of experience working with OEMs or internet companies in the HMI domain, managing or overseeing UI components.Proven leadership skills with a strong sense of responsibility, commitment to driving results, and ability to inspire and motivate teams.Demonstrated strong sense of responsibility and commitment to achieving project goals, ensuring quality, and delivering on-time results.Solid background in project management, with experience leading complex software development projects involving multiple stakeholders.Experience in setting project scope, objectives, and timelines while ensuring alignment with customer needs and overall project objectives.Familiarity with the Agile development environment, Scrum methodology, and experience in a Product Owner or Scrum Master role is a plus.Proficient in using project management tools, such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external development partners across different regions.Self-motivated, team player, with a high level of integrity and a focus on collaboration.Ability to work well under pressure. Fluent in English.
