This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. In a fast paced, high expectation, results oriented environment, the Corporate and Compliance Counsel will be responsible for all legal, compliance, regulatory and operational matters (excluding litigation and administrative matters).
Responsibilities: Provide advice, guidance and support in connection with all U.S. regulatory and compliance mattersCoordinate and oversee an effective U.S. compliance environment and protocol that is in line with current industry best practices, and legal and regulatory guidance and requirementsEnsure all required internal and regulatory reporting is conducted in a timely, accurate and compliant mannerDevelop and implement cost effective compliance related solutionsConduct a multi-state residential mortgage lending licensing surveyManage a multi-state residential mortgage lending licensing application projectOversee compliance with applicable licensing requirements, including maintenance and renewal, as well as regulatory examinations and complaintsIdentify and prepare required residential mortgage loan closing documents and disclosuresDevelop and maintain relevant policies and proceduresCommunicate with and manage outside counselPerform other projects and duties as assigned Requirements: Law degree; from a nationally accredited U.S. law school preferred5-10 years' regulatory and compliance experience in residential mortgage banking throughout the U.SDemonstrated experience with and working knowledge of U.S. federal and state residential mortgage lending laws, rules and regulations, and licensing requirementsExcellent command of the English language (both written and verbal)Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and technology skillsStrong legal research, document drafting and writing skillsSuperior analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships both internally and externallyDetail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skillsProficient in all Microsoft Office and Adobe applications Benefits: CONTRACT/CONSULTANCY POSITIONCompensation DOE11 US Paid Holidays per year
