As a Control Management Senior Associate in the LATAM and Canada Regional Control Management team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the region has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with different businesses and corporate functions to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. You will coordinate and conduct a variety of risk assessments across 14 legal entities in the region in partnership with main stakeholders, leading control projects to improve Location risk control management for LATAM and Canada. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation, while monitoring global control programs to ensure regional compliance.
Job Responsibilities: Coordinate and conduct a variety of risk assessments across 14 legal entities in the region in partnership with main stakeholders, including arranging quantitative and qualitative data, evaluating concentration of risks, and building out Legal Entity and Compliance Risk Assessment in conjunction with Location Control Managers.In partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the regional risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine the root cause of control breaks.Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols.Perform ongoing analysis of program-related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support central control office related programs and strategies.Assist with the development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentation through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units.Lead regional projects by defining objectives and requirements in collaboration with project owners. Manage project workstreams through the development and maintenance of project plans and status updates, while conducting meetings and preparing presentations at the project level to prioritize tasks across affected areas. Serve as the escalation point for stakeholder issues to ensure timely management decisions.Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.More than 6 years of experience in the Financial Services industry with a background in Controls, Audit, Legal Obligations, Operational and/or Compliance Risk Management or equivalent would be beneficial.Strong team player with excellent partnering and influencing skills who can partner closely with peers responsible for data analysis and assessments across LATAM and Canada.Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership and is able to make constructive observations and recommendations.Good organizational skills—manages & prioritizes multiple tasks with a high focus on quality.Investigative mindset, able to see issues at both a high level and in detail, and understand applicability across the business.Strong analytical, problem-solving & process re-engineering skills.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Confident in communicating with and influencing stakeholders where appropriate.Good judgment, maturity, and poise to identify risks and escalate where required.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: CORE, ELA, Excel, PowerPoint, and Alteryx skills preferable.
