Quick Response Center (QRC) EngineerJob Summary: The Quick Response Center (QRC) Engineer provides technical and engineering support to QRC personnel, Business Operations, Sales Engineers, and customers to develop the best possible repair and/or improvement solutions for aftermarket work within the scope of responsibility according to applicable procedures (CORP-AMSS-1058). Responsible for providing technical interpretation of specifications, procedures, policies, equipment quality, and reliability to stakeholders. The QRC Engineer supports but typically does not perform project execution engineering (job engineering).
Responsibilities: Review DCI reports, customer specifications/instructions, and develop a high-level scope of work for QRC jobs when necessary and in accordance with the CORP-AMSS-1058 procedure.Implement engineering best practices and Flowserve standards, such as welding procedures, bolt torque, materials, hydraulic testing, etc.Identify improvement opportunities and support the generation of technical proposals to support such improvements. Coordinate/collaborate with engineering/project engineering services when appropriate/necessary to perform non-generic improvements/solutions. Support technical and commercial justification analysis.Act as an engineering liaison for Project Engineering during the order execution phase.Responsible for documenting and communicating design changes initiated by the QRC according to applicable procedures and systems.Responsible for reviewing and annotating/documenting customer or third-party changes according to applicable procedures and systems.First technical contact for witnesses; review specifications and requirements for visits.Responsible for failure analysis reports for specific jobs when necessary.Support sales in presenting FLS's technical capabilities to customers.Assist the QRC in all engineering matters including but not limited to NCR disposition, supporting machinists, and assisting workshop mechanics during assembly.Provide sketches to facilitate quick repairs.Other assigned tasks.Requirements: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and/or 2 or more years of related experience.Advanced English (written and spoken).Experience in 2D design (preferably computer-aided design).Engineering documentation, drawing, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing.Effective oral and written communication skills.Interpersonal collaboration skills.Advanced project management tools, methods, and applications.Accountability and execution to complete work on time and to specifications.Experience with PLM, ERP, and other planning and engineering systems.Fundamentals of machine design.Basic knowledge of pump applications and types, clear understanding of hydraulic fundamentals and their relation to pumps and pumping systems.General knowledge of metallurgical requirements and applications.General knowledge of manufacturing processes.Ability to interpret industry standards, technical drawings, and manufacturing procedures.Understanding of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology.Ability to work closely with customers (face-to-face or over the phone); good verbal and written communicator with confidence and a positive attitude.
