Public & Government Affairs Manager Region South AmericaThe positionThis role has to understand and influence the external political environment and potential governmental developments. Supports the business in developing a strong corporate affairs presence and strategy to help ensure an environment where patients and customers have access to our innovations, now and in the future. Also, should be responsible for developing and executing high impact policy positions and Government Affairs programs, aimed at ensuring a favorable environment for Boehringer Ingelheim's Human Pharma and Animal Health businesses in South America.
Tasks and responsibilitiesStrategic Planning: Develop and execute proactive plans to leverage or mitigate changes and trends.Healthcare Affairs Link: Advance local Health Care Affairs plans with political stakeholders.Stakeholder Engagement: Map and engage with regional stakeholders, facilitate expert discussions, and enhance Boehringer's reputation.Global Representation: Represent South America within Boehringer's global Government Relations network.Government Consultations: Respond to government consultations and articulate policy positions.Monitor and Analyze: Track political and legislative developments, assess impacts on business, and provide strategic counsel.Visibility and Advocacy: Enhance Boehringer's visibility with policymakers and lead advocacy efforts.Trade Associations: Manage engagement with trade associations and participate in relevant groups.Integrated Approach: Work with Leadership line to ensure a cohesive strategy.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in a related field.Experience: 10+ years in politics or Government Relations at regional and national levels.Policy Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare and animal health policies.Industry Insight: Familiarity with pharmaceutical and animal health industry regulations.Communication: Excellent writing and public speaking skills.Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with senior politicians and policymakers.Strategic Thinking: Ability to prioritize, manage pressure, and deliver to deadlines.
