Project Manager - Accessibility (Volunteer)

Detalles de la oferta

Here at Teenage Helpline , we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK.
Our growing team of volunteers all contribute, significantly, to the impact that we have as a charity on our direct beneficiaries, regardless of the department that they work in of the level of time that they are able to commit.
Our services  primarily offer a peer-support network to young people right across the UK, allowing them to access a peer mentor who is of a similar age to them and somebody that they feel more comfortable speaking with.
If successful, you will be joining a growing team of diverse, but likeminded individuals, collaborating to increase the reach of the Charity and improve support provisions available to young people.
All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers,  but that doesn't stop us keeping in touch and maintaining a strong positive culture amongst our whole team.
About the role As a nationally operating Charity across the UK, it is important that we are accessible to all.
This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to delve deep into our services and ensure that they are accessible for all.
The initial scope of this project is to ensure that our services are accessible to native Welsh speakers but will expand to ensure that our service delivery is inclusive to all by identifying barriers to entry and developing proposals to overcome these barriers.
Responsibilities  Lead a project team of volunteers that can assess the current accessibility of the Charity to propose and implement key changes that increases the accessibility.
The initial scope will be ensuring that our services are accessible to native Welsh speakers, quickly expanding to other areas where there are barriers to young people being able to engage with our services.
You will partner with key stakeholders, including our Youth Advisory Committee, potential beneficiaries, the Executive Team and broader charity staff to complete your assessment and work with others to implement your proposed changes.
Skills   Proven experience in DEI or accessibility identification Welsh language speaker preferred Ability to think strategically.
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate potential issues or barriers, as well as develop proposals as to how the Charity can overcome these barriers.
Proficient in the use of key Microsoft tools, including Office365 packages.
Ability to work remotely, and independently.
Our mission is to continue to grow towards becoming one of the best charities in the UK.
Our aim is to do this by building a diverse team, rich with different backgrounds and perspectives.
Therefore, even if you feel you only are a 75% match, we would still love to hear from you.
Skills can be learned, but diversity cannot.
Benefits of volunteering with Teenage Helpline We recognise that you will be joining us and giving your time as an 'in-kind' donation, but there must be benefits for you too.
