We are looking for a Principal Architect to join the regional Architecture Team at MetLife Center of Excellence in Argentina.
In this pivotal role, you'll manage the planning, development, and communication of architecture strategies, ensuring alignment with MetLife's standards and governance.

What you will do in this role… Develop and Communicate Architecture: Establish and prioritize architecture strategies to support business goals, including creating and communicating target and solution architectures.Manage Projects and Teams: Oversee multiple complex projects and manage a team of architects, handling hiring, performance management, and professional development.Ensure Alignment: Align architectural solutions with business objectives and remove barriers to expedite the transition from design to prototype.Architectural Runway: Assess and align architectural activities with engineering and IT objectives, ensuring compatibility with the SAFe framework.Communication and Reporting: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, present updates on progress and issues, and ensure governance and standard maturity.Evaluate Technologies: Stay updated on trends and technologies, assessing their potential impact on the business.Document and Quality Assurance: Direct the maintenance and quality of project documentation and architecture artifacts.Stakeholder Engagement: Lead discussions with diverse audiences, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the architecture program.Minimum Qualifications: Proven experience in establishing strategic technology and platform directions, including transition and target architectures.Expertise in modern integration patterns, cloud adoption, and leading design sessions with business and IT teams.Strong experience in application design and architecture, cloud native technologies, and secure design and coding practices.Strategic thinking with the ability to apply abstract architectural concepts at an enterprise level.Familiarity with formal architecture frameworks (e.g., FEAF, TOGAF, Zachman); certifications are a plus.Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex architectural concepts to various stakeholders.Proven ability to build relationships and influence colleagues across all levels, uncover business issues, and identify needs.Ability to manage multiple large, complex projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.Proficiency in English and Spanish; basic Portuguese is an advantage.
