PURPOSE OF JOB/POSITION Principal Platform Engineer is responsible for planning, designing and delivering network solutions around Data Center network technologies and integrating them into Takeda's overall Cloud and DC network architecture and design.Provides subject matter expertise, technical analysis and consultation on the design and implementation of all network services and network technologies.This position is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and supporting network and DC network infrastructure.This position provides consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem.Application Performance Monitoring (APM) - Strong understanding of end-to-end application performance monitoring toolset such as Netprofiler, LiveNX, Aternity. Build performance monitoring dashboards to provide proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities for application delivery experience.Is recognized within IT and Takeda as the Platform Architecture expert for Design, Development, and Enablement specific to the global LAN/WAN Network, a role which cuts across business and technology domains.Leads the development of the technology platform strategy, drives innovation and adoption of the platform in alignment with the PEP product team, through development of applicable policies, standards, guidelines and reference / enablement materials.Establish and lead the enablement of a global PEP community of practice under the TBD direction and for the benefit of global IT and IT Business Partners.Lead and direct the continuous improvement of PEP related technology capabilities including but not limited to XYZ which align to architecture principles, global IT standards, and security requirements.ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lead the formulation of PEP related IT Strategy, with a strong focus on Takeda's strategic digital innovation goals by maturing Takeda's patient engagement capabilities.Provide leadership to business service and PEP platform capability roadmaps.Drive PEP adoption, while maintaining design authority to align use cases and regional concerns to an optimized, re-usable platform.Lead and influence the development and maintenance of PEP principles, standards, blueprints, patterns, and reference architectures / implementation which enable improved business outcomes from PEP.Influence and lead project teams, IT engineering and operations teams to solve problems in the overall PEP environment, specific to business use cases.Recognized and seen as key enabler to PEP product owner(s), partnering with IT operations teams to provide excellent, agility-enhancing services from a common global platform.Use in-depth knowledge and experience in Architecture, design, data, system thinking and standards together with Enterprise Leadership and Product Management experience to advise teams on multiple levels.Bring all global instances of patient experience platform under a common management and operations framework while supporting the needs and differences of agile product teams.From time to time, report on the state and direction of Takeda PEP environments to technology and business leaders.CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE: This role will be the platform architecture leader for PEP for global Takeda, focusing on driving improved business outcomes through a global common platform approach.As a member of the architecture and modernization team, this role will enable and support project teams and business teams in designing optimized solutions which drive reuse, improved efficiencies and remove / reduce Takeda's technical debt.As owner of Takeda's long-term PEP technology roadmap, this individual works with many key stakeholders and helps to drive platform maturity (primarily skills development, process improvement, and tools / technology improvement) and adoption.Platform Engineer – Application Virtualization Administrator The Platform Engineer (Administrator) for Application Virtualization Platform is an experienced individual who can perform engineering activities on the Application Virtualization platform (i.e. design, build, testing, release, validation, and support).
RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute as a subject matter technical expert for Citrix Cloud DaaS administration and maintenance/operations/troubleshooting and all elements related the application environment.Stay abreast of related technology and recommend future system enhancements, improving troubleshooting and reducing the manual tasks.Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and implementing recommendations for resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels or performance.Responsible for Level 3 platform support and maintenance activities.Contribute to platform architecture roadmap, in collaboration with platform owner, product manager, and platform architecture leads.Provision, manage and maintain the software infrastructure that supports platforms.SKILLS / COMPETENCIES Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, and/or Management Information Systems from an accredited university or equivalent experience.2+ years of more experience with Agile methods / methodologies, and leading SCRUM / Lean / Kanban teams.5+ years or more of relevant professional experience as a technology engineer.5+ years of Citrix and/or IT operational experience, including with relevant Microsoft technologies.Proficient in Citrix Desktop/Application (Cloud) solution.Experience in implementation, administration and troubleshooting experience on Citrix systems, including Provisioning Server (PVS), XenApp and XenDesktop.Knowledge of Netscaler, Gateway service, Director tool, Web interface, and App Streaming.Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining Citrix infrastructure (License server, Storefront, Delivery Controller, Citrix Director, VDA Machines).Hands-on experience in application deployment via SCCM.Knowledge of MCS, PVS, and Server Build technologies.Scripting commands to pull reports (PowerShell or similar).Knowledge on AWS EC2 using golden AMI for Citrix MCS provisioning.Knowledge on Citrix Cloud performance and security analytics.Knowledge on Universal Hybrid Multi Cloud Citrix licensing.Knowledge on Citrix Cloud Application Delivery Administration.Experience in managing global enterprise Citrix Cloud Environments.Configuring license server and renewal/update licenses.Ability to create and manage XenApp policies and privileges.Ability to customize the Citrix environment based on business requirements.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Citrix issues and incidents.Ability to perform application updates, changes, and migrations.Ability to manage user profiles and access provisioning.Ability to secure and monitor the Citrix environment.Ability to perform capacity planning and analysis of the Citrix environment.Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud technology environments (AWS preferred).Ability to communicate and coordinate with end-users and other IT teams.Ability to create and maintain knowledge articles and documentation.Ability to drive the support teams to meet SLAs for infrastructure uptime.Ability to make recommendations on enhancements and performance issues.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.MORE ABOUT US: At Takeda, we are transforming patient care through the development of novel specialty pharmaceuticals and best in class patient support programs.
