The Opportunity An exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to be part of a multi-skilled team at our Westleigh Asphalt Plant in Tiverton.
This role includes working in shift including weekends and nights as well.
You will control the fixed and mobile plant to produce asphalt while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety, quality, sustainability, efficiency & environmental awareness reporting to the site management.
The role includes :- Mixing Operation- (Full Training Provide) Conduct mixing of asphalt product to BSI:9001 specification and within Aggregate Industries specifications to ensure our customers are supplied with a premium product.
Completion and recording of pre-start inspections via the company's digital system Identifying, recording and reporting defective fixed plant equipment.
Support maintenance teams with maintaining and monitoring the condition of fixed plant equipment.
Utilisation of the control system to control fixed plant equipment Loading Shovel Operations- (Full Training Provide) Completion and recording of pre-start inspections via the company's digital system.
Reporting any defective equipment in a timely manner to the management team..
Monitoring of aggregate stocking levels and Feeding material into the asphalt plant.
Driving in accordance with the site workplace transport plan to maintain a high level of vehicle safety on site.
Efficiently operating machinery to reduce costs and emissions to the environment.
Weighbridge Operations - (Full Training Provide) Controlling and managing the loading of vehicles via control system.
Programming and scheduling of materials for production.
Entering data into the company's Internal Management System.
Ensuring vehicle compliance to workplace transport plan requirements.
Answering and making phone calls to relevant order offices.
