The purpose of this role is being accountable for project Planning to support the Project Control Manager and assist PMO (Project Management Office) preparing and coordinating the development of staffing and operating plans for planning and scheduling activities. It reviews contract drafts for adequacy of scheduling requirements, and coordinates development of all data in support of negotiations. It directs all planning development and maintenance monitoring activities. It also directs schedule analysis study and problem-solving activities.
This role is responsible for developing weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to inform the leadership team with the status of the project. The incumbent needs to provide information that feeds in CMF, Steering Committee, and Investment Committee as and when required. The role will ensure the procedures and standards provided by the PMO will be thoroughly followed.
In this role you will: Responsible for effective execution of Project Planning for MARA in accordance with the Copper CMF and Copper Department Procedures, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly capital projects performance reviews. Ensure effective project reporting is consistent in MARA Project to increase transparency, assist informed strategic decision making and controls processes (cost, commitments, schedule and planning, and change/trends management) to enable timely on-budget delivery of project objectives. Develop resource loaded schedules for projects. Provide analytics advice that can help project critical path, floats, risks, project progress and milestones. Supports Project Management for MARA in achieving projects' objectives by setting up and implementing project controls requirements. Ensure risk management elements as per the CMF are present for MARA Project, i.e., risk identification, quantification, response, accounting, and reporting are in place including conducting relevant monthly risk reviews. Ability to tie-in and consolidate with full logic multiple third-party schedules from consultants and contractors into MARA project master schedule for progress reporting and forecasting purposes. Liase with MARA's team to develop an integrated plan for the current phase (Feasibility Study) activities and stablish a baseline schedule and follow-up and report accordingly. Particularly, lead the development, maintenance and reporting MARA's permitting schedule. Lead planning and progress control and reporting activities for MARA's team, third parties' studies and site activities. Provide support to contract administration establishing Key Dates for Tender Packages in alignment with Project Master Schedule. Ensure Project Master Schedule meets Gate's requirements according to CMF. Foster a learning and continuous improvement culture to improve all aspects of project performance, sustainability and business growth, leading the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives, including portfolio opportunities for increased capital efficiency and productivity in the project controls function. Train, guide, and coach MARA's personnel (internal and external contractors and consultants where appropriate) on project controls techniques and the requirements for the correct implementation of the CMF. Your training, skills & expertise checklist: Tertiary Qualifications – Engineering, Construction management, Project management and/or related disciplines. Certification from AACE, PRINCE II and/or PMI, or other related project management certification is favourable. 15+ years' experience in a similar role within the resources or Petrochemical industry. Extensive Project Scheduling experience in Scope identification, Breakdown design, planning and scheduling, Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera P6. Proven experience with greenfield mega-projects and with Owner's team Feasibility Studies experience is favourable. Knowledge of earned value techniques. Excellent risk management and quantification expertise. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization. Ability to build Level 1 schedules from detailed level 3 and level 2 schedules. Proven experience developing, leading, and motivating teams. Strong leadership and relationship building skills both including internal and external stakeholders. Semi-autonomous, self-motivated, highly pro-active, and resilient attitude. Business, facilitation, analytical, leadership/ management and negotiation capabilities. Commercial and financial acumen. Advanced written and oral skills in both, Spanish and English. Resource experience working with project delivery organizations in Argentina preferred.
