Responsibilities: Assemblers at Mercedes-Benz Vans work within a team in an assembly-line environment building state-of-the-art vans for the American automotive market.
Prepare the assemblyCheck production documents for completenessInspect incoming parts for completeness and qualityProvide feedback on missing/incomplete documents or partsAssemble components and/or assembliesAccording to the appropriate work instructions, mount various assemblies and components on numerous or different stations within an allotted timeframeReport self-discovered defects/errorsEnsure the assembly meets high quality standardsPerform maintenance work according to specifications (tool maintenance, housekeeping, Total Production Maintenance) within individual workstation and on station toolsQualifications: Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED strongly preferred1+ years relevant manufacturing experience or Lean Manufacturing certificate preferredAbility to perform the essential functions of the job.Knowledge and Skills Preferred experience in automotive productionWe are all in for change. EXCELLENT COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PLAN WITH 401k MATCHING Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
