The TeamThe North America Compensation Sr Manager will be responsible for providing strategic compensation leadership and expertise to the North American region. This role will focus on developing, implementing, and managing compensation programs that align with the company's business objectives and drive employee engagement and retention.
The RoleDevelop and implement competitive compensation strategies and programs for the North American region, ensuring alignment with the company's overall compensation philosophy and market trends.The North American region includes both salaried and hourly employees, working in various business lines and across multiple functions, with a wide range of skills.Conduct market research and analysis to assess the competitiveness of compensation offerings across a variety of job families and a range of skills for different business lines plus G&A support functions. Use this information and industry standards to create specific job ranges that ensure pay equity and competitiveness.Develop and administer annual compensation reviews, including salary increases, promotions, and bonus programs.Manage the compensation budgeting process for the North American region, ensuring that costs are aligned with business objectives and financial targets.Manage the goal setting and bonus program for North America, working with stakeholders from finance and the business.Provide guidance and support to HR Business Partners and managers on compensation-related matters, including salary benchmarking, job evaluation, and performance-based pay.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal compensation laws and regulations in the United States and Canada, partnering with the legal team.Develop and maintain compensation ranges, policies and procedures for the North American region.Collaborate with the Global Total Rewards CoE team to ensure consistency and alignment of compensation practices across regions.What You'll DoBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.8+ years of experience in compensation management, with a focus on North American compensation practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in using HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle) and compensation analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).Knowledge of local, state, and federal compensation laws and regulations in the United States and Canada.Fluency in English: Essential for effective communication with global teams and understanding international compensation practices.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Additional SkillsChange Management: Ability to effectively manage change within the organization, especially when implementing new compensation programs or policies.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in compensation processes.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.Technical Skills: Proficiency in using HRIS systems, data analysis tools, and compensation modeling software.About usWe're a global, 1000-strong, diverse team of professional experts, promoting and delivering Social Innovation through our One Hitachi initiative (OT x IT x Product) and working on projects that have a real-world impact.
