SUMMARY:The National Development Manager (NDM) is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share while developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers.
The NDM will pursue large opportunities (mostly Platinum level) and multinational companies.
He or she will also cooperate with the JAS Global Accounts and Vertical teams and as directed by local management.
Local management can direct the NDM to develop specific markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Develop sales strategies to increase our PLATINUM/Diamond and Multinational customer baseMaintain a thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the companyTravel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customersAble to develop and maintain strong business relationshipsProvide pricing, credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtainedProvide activity reports and sales plans for the assigned territoryActively participate in aggressive sales and skills training and/or any other company sponsored sales meeting as indicated by managementAdhere to all requirements outlined in the Sales PolicyMust be an avid user of our CRM systemOther duties as may be assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None
QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal skillsExcellent presentation and interpersonal skillsThorough knowledge of transportation industry logistics and freight forwardingThorough knowledge of successful sales techniquesStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office suiteDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlinesSelf-motivated, able to work in a team and independentlyMust have valid driver's license and safe driving recordEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:College degree preferred3-5 years successful sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics and or transportation industryExperience with CMS system
