The Position Leads, develops and implements the Near Patient Care Medical strategy for the Latam region ensuring better patient outcomes by enhancing the adoption and access to diagnostics tests.
Responsibilities are typically for field-based clinician and include investigator-initiated studies (IIS) (main research activity in DIA) site support with product information, phase III - IV clinical trials, and other clinical studies and investigations.
Develops and cultivates strong relationships with the local, external scientific and medical communities. Oversees teams who may also conduct healthcare professional education, clinical or scientific meetings and presentations, seek feedback and input from external experts on medical affairs-generated topics, respond to unsolicited questions regarding Roche products (on- and off-label), provide clinical inputs into Roche communications and materials, as well as participate in or otherwise assist with internal science/medical training and development activities.
The Opportunity: Co-create and provide active support in LATAM for NPC medical activities in Roche affiliates adapted to the specific priorities defined in the LATAM Delivery Agenda.
Work closely with local, cross-country and global compliance networks, strong cross-functional partnership with other affiliates, networks & chapters and actively engaging with Roche global functions and group members.
Leverage knowledge, foresee new trends and developments in clinical practice and transform into reverse translation to influence and corroborate applicability and medical value of new products and services.
Define and develop medium to long-term strategic goals for Near Patient Care Medical Affairs in line with Roche Diagnostics (EMEA-LATAM) overall strategic context & LATAM Operating Model & Delivery Agenda.
Proactively influence adoption/ implementation of local or international standards, guidelines and best practices by active participation as members of various expert groups, advisory boards and Scientific Societies.
Manage, foster and invest in relationships with key opinion leaders in the LATAM region and provide liaison between the various internal and external scientific stakeholders to co- create and support the interpretation of medical content that backs our business strategy.
Shape content and represents at international congresses and meetings on behalf of Roche Diagnostics.
Initiate, contribute and influence clinical studies or scientific publications in order to fill knowledge gaps critical for precision medicine and diagnostics.
Inspire high levels of medical expertise and a scientific mindset across the affiliate and instills enabling mindset throughout the medical team and the affiliates.
Designs and develops scientific information and educational programs for opinion leaders (technicians, pathologists, hospital directors, leading decision makers etc.
Who you are: Medical doctor with 5 to 10 years of experience in the Latam region within the pharma / diagnostic industry.
International management experience with working experience or knowledge of Agile methodologies/ways-of-working.
Proven expertise in medical affairs and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to navigate complex healthcare ecosystems.
Specialist knowledge: specialist in Diabetes,endocrinology, or cardiology highly preferred.
Fluent in English
Strong ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively within a diverse and transforming regional context.
Demonstrated ability to navigate within a changing organization, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus building skill .
