MBJ_Overall Vehicle Testing Engineer

Objective of position Ensure market readiness for new Mercedes-Benz cars in Japan. Be the main source for innovations, developments and trends for Japan.
TASKS: Release testing of Mercedes-Benz cars for JapanPreparation of vehicles and setup of measurement equipmentRoute planning and organization of test drivesTesting according to local specifics and evaluation of recordings, statistics, and test data tracesIssue and track defect ticketsMake sure Japan-specific requirements are taken into consideration during product development:
Establish dialogue with stakeholders within Mercedes-Benz Japan and customers to ensure customer needs are identified and taken into consideration when developing and evaluating new functionsVehicle SW Updates for new Mercedes-Benz cars: SW updates (ECU flashing and coding) for new Mercedes-Benz carsAlignment with counterparts in German HQ to identify required SW packagesTroubleshooting after SW updates and identification of solutions in close exchange with German HQCompetitor Vehicle Benchmarking Benchmarking of competitor vehicles in the Japanese market
*As a general rule, this is a local contract position Qualifications Training and qualification Bachelor's degree in automotive, mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent fieldsEnglish – business level requiredJapanese – daily conversation level requiredJapanese driver's license and solid driving experience, safe driving skillsTechnical knowledge Strong knowledge of vehicle development process and vehicle diagnosis tools (Monaco, CANoe, etc.)Strong knowledge in computer vision and pattern recognitionStrong knowledge of measurement methods and statistical analysisGood understanding of basic technologies for automotive applications (chassis, powertrain, electric & electronic, autonomous drive technology)Good interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
