Today we oversee the country specific development and integration of Infotainment Features, Autonomous Driving, ADAS and Charging Systems, with the goal of tailoring the best possible in-car user experience for Japan and the world.
About the role
We Mercedes-Benz Research & Development Japan are looking for a Market Function Owner, fully responsible for developing and integrating the TV function for the Rear Seat Entertainment system for all relevant carlines in development for the Japanese market.
The Market Function Owner TV Rear is the technical key person for all aspects of the feature in Japan.
What you will do
Steer the overall feature development for the TV feature implemented in the Rear Seat Entertainment Unit for Japanese customer cars.Identify suppliers, request and realize collaboration and manage the software/hardware integration of the TV feature for the Rear Seat Entertainment system.Define requirements and adapt existing specification for TV function for Rear Seat Entertainment system and align with all relevant project partners worldwide.Coordinate the implementation and feature rollout in close collaboration with the TV responsibles for the Central Infotainment Unit in Germany, the Rear Seat Unit project responsibles in Asia, the POs and their software development teams in India and other affected stakeholders.Manage test hardware distribution to developers and integrations teams worldwide.Ensure sufficient maturity of the implementation by demanding supplier management and regular hands-on testing of the feature in test vehicles and using test benches.All identified software and hardware issues are properly documented in the MB internal defect management system.Drive the bugfixing process and follow up on all open issues with the affected stakeholders to meet the corresponding project milestones.Your Qualification
Academic degree in computer science, electrical, automotive- or mechanical engineering or equivalent education.Versatile system thinker with a track record of driving complex technical projects in cross-functional teams.3+ years working experience in automotive EE system integration/development or related technical field.Very proactive attitude, excellent problem solving skills and being able to create or control a situation rather than just responding to it after it has happened.Exceptionally collaborative approach, very good interpersonal and intercultural skills.High enthusiasm for automotive industry and tech industry in general.Overall knowledge of vehicle electrics and electronics especially CAN/LIN/Flexray/Ethernet bus communication systems.Experience using automotive diagnostic tools such as Vector, DTS, etc.Fluent in English, conversational Japanese, German language skills are a plus.OrganizationPrimary LocationWork LocationsMFTBC, Kawasaki Plant and Research & Development Center [1st premises]
