As we expand our fleet of state-of-the-art electric vehicles, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated Development Engineer to ensure that our cars are not only exceptional in performance but also seamlessly integrated into local charging infrastructures.
Responsibilities Understanding, Implementing, and Specifying the CHAdeMO Standard: Translate the CHAdeMO standard into specific requirements and develop detailed requirement specifications that are implemented by the respective components. This involves a deep understanding of the protocol, breaking it down into actionable and testable requirements, and ensuring its application in our EVs.Release Processes: Manage the release processes for the respective country, ensuring that all necessary certifications and approvals are obtained. This includes preparing documentation and liaising with regulatory bodies.Test Specifications and Review: Ensure that comprehensive test specifications are created based on the requirements, including defining test cases, scenarios, and acceptance criteria to validate the implementation. Conduct thorough reviews of test cases to ensure they adequately cover all aspects of the CHAdeMO standard, working with the testing team to refine and improve test coverage.Error Analysis, Resolution, and Test Drives: Analyze errors and coordinate their resolution. This involves troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to ensure reliable performance. Additionally, participate in test drives to validate the real-world performance of the CHAdeMO charging system, including hands-on testing and evaluation to ensure optimal functionality.Participation in Meetings: Actively participate in meetings of the CHAdeMO Association to stay updated on the latest developments and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the standard.Qualifications Education/Languages: Academic degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, computer science, or equivalent education.English – business level.German language skills are a plus.Japanese driver's license.Experiences: Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems effectively.Knowledge of requirements engineering.Knowledge of vehicle electrics and electronics.Understanding of EV charging protocols (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, Tesla Supercharger) and standards (e.g., ISO 15118, SAE J1772).Working experience in the automotive industry or a related technical field is a plus.Experience in project management.Experience creating technical specifications.Solid experience working in an intercultural environment.Soft Skills / Personality: Ability to dissect complex problems and systematically solve them with attention to detail.Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over projects, demonstrating the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.Very good interpersonal and intercultural skills.Good communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple functions.Proactive attitude and good problem-solving skills.High enthusiasm for the automotive and tech industry.We Offer: An exciting and challenging role in an innovative environment.The opportunity to actively shape the future of mobility.
