?Objective of Position?
One of the most important market specific applications within the MB.OS Infotainment System is the Navigation application. To consider the individual local customer expectations and to facilitate the collaboration with the local suppliers, Mercedes-Benz has established an onsite development team consisting of so-called function owners (FO).
This position focuses on the ownership for routing, guidance and augmented reality (AR). The FO defines the relevant requirements from customer and technical perspective, aligns the requirements with the supplier and ensures a proper testing of the features supported by a third-party testing team.

Creation of Concepts and Specifications for Online/offline routing, Guidance, EVRA and AR:
Determine market-specific requirements and innovations for the Navigation system based on market monitoring, feedback from market organization, Q-Satellite, etc. If required, adaptation of concepts and algorithms for the local market. If required, legal clarifications with the local market regarding new features. Create and document concepts and specifications for market-specific features while keeping communalization with ECE in mind. Application Testing:
Validation of the Navigation application (e.g. current positions matching estimation, route guidance method, quality and performance estimation) Verification of application implementation according to specifications Coordination of testing activities Creation and continuous update of test cases Defect reporting in Dante including responsibility to open/close tickets Verification of fixed issues Defect management in close collaboration with supplier and Navi Asia project Responsibility for market release of the Japan specific features of the Navigation application Supplier Management:
Regular communication with suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and priorities are clear Follow-up on reported issues and management of the fixing process, including escalation to management If required, supplier evaluation and technical proof of concept studies with suppliers Monitoring / Benchmarking of Navigation Applications:
Perform benchmark of relevant vehicles, navigation systems and telematics services Regular communication to relevant suppliers Regular monitoring of relevant news sources Communication to HQ via Telematics Newsletter About 15 - 20 minutes' walk from JR Hirama or Shin Kawasaki Station to the office.
Qualifications Education/Languages:
Academic degree in computer science, electrical, automotive or mechanical engineering or equivalent education English – negotiation level Japanese and German language skill as a plus Japanese driver's license Technical:
Knowledge of functionality of Navigation system (route guidance, map database structure, VICS / ETC protocol) Hands-on knowledge of C++, Matlab, Javascript or similar programming languages Plus: Understanding of automotive infotainment systems and backend infrastructure Soft Skills / Personality:
Good communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple functions in different countries. Pro-active attitude and good problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal and intercultural skills. High enthusiasm for automotive industry and tech industry Experiences:
Experience in the automotive industry at OEM or supplier or related technical field. Hands-on experience creating technical specifications. Experience in SW testing and test coordination.
