As a Charging Validation Engineer, you will be the heartbeat of our electric vehicle reliability. Your primary objective will be to meticulously test and validate the charging systems of our EVs across various local infrastructures.
Test Campaign Management
Plan and oversee comprehensive charging validation test campaigns, ensuring they align with project timelines and objectives.
Independently plan, execute, and lead charging test campaigns.Coordinate with internal teams to schedule and access required resources.Develop and maintain detailed test plans that address all necessary validation criteria.Charging System Analysis
Conduct in-depth analysis of EV charging behavior across different charging infrastructures.
Analyze and evaluate the performance of our EVs during charging, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards and local requirements.Evaluate compatibility and performance during charging processes.Identify any deviations from expected outcomes and investigate underlying causes.Issue Tracking, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
It's about keeping a sharp eye on the details, following up to make sure problems are fixed, and learning from each test to make the next one even better.
Issue Tracking: Vigilantly identify and document testing issues, collaborating with technical teams for swift resolution and ensuring thorough follow-up on corrective actions.Reporting: Synthesize test data into clear reports, providing stakeholders with concise insights and actionable recommendations.Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of EV charging trends to inform validation processes, advocating for and implementing enhancements to elevate testing efficiency and effectiveness.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with development, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to EV charging validation.
Participate in cross-departmental meetings to align on objectives and share insights.Provide expert advice on charging systems to support product development and innovation.Vehicle Preparation
Ensure vehicles are fully prepared for testing, including hardware setup and software configuration.
Install necessary testing equipment and validate its proper function.Update vehicle software to the latest versions to ensure accurate test results.Qualifications Education/Languages Academic degree in electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent education.German language skills as a plus.Technical Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems effectively.Strong knowledge of validation and testing strategies.Familiarity with vehicle communication systems such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.Considerable knowledge of C++, Matlab, Python or similar programming languages.Hands-on experience with charging hardware and software, including AC and DC charging systems.Knowledge of vehicle electrics and electronics.Understanding of EV charging protocols (e.g., CCS, CHAdeMO, Tesla Supercharger) and standards (e.g., ISO 15118, SAE J1772).Soft Skills / Personality Ability to dissect complex problems and systematically solve them with attention to detail.Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over projects, demonstrating the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.Very good interpersonal and intercultural skills.Good communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple functions.Pro-active attitude and good problem-solving skills.High enthusiasm for automotive industry and tech industry.Experiences Working experience in automotive industry or related technical field as a plus.Experience in project management.Experience creating technical specifications.Experience in creating test specifications.Solid experience in working in an intercultural environment.Internationally-minded and very intercultural working environment.
